Dissemination Activity Report
Date: 22 October 2025
Location: Nooruse Maja, Pärnu, Estonia
Target Group: Local government officials, educators, youth workers, and community stakeholders from Kadrina Municipality
On 22 October 2025, Nooruse Maja had the pleasure of hosting a study visit from the Kadrina Cultural Centre (Kadrina Kultuurikoda). The delegation, consisting of 12 representatives, travelled from Lääne-Virumaa to Pärnu to learn about our experience in implementing international and European cooperation projects, with a special interest in community-level engagement, education, and resilience building.
The visiting group included local government officers, school principals, youth workers, social workers, teachers, and creative group leaders – all of whom are directly involved in community development and non-formal education in the Kadrina region. The visit was part of their professional development and strategic planning process, aimed at strengthening their capacities in project work, funding acquisition, and cross-sectoral cooperation.
A key moment during their visit was the live dissemination event of the COMBATHATE project, which was taking place at the same time in the main hall of Nooruse Maja. This public awareness event was organised and led by the second Estonian project partner, Amanita, and gathered an audience of approximately 70 participants, including individuals with mental disabilities, their family members, educators, and NGO workers. The timing allowed the Kadrina delegation to witness first-hand the project's community outreach and public engagement component.
Throughout the visit, the delegation had the opportunity to:
-
Learn about Nooruse Maja’s role in international project management and local implementation
-
Gain insights into the COMBATHATE project’s objectives, particularly in combating hate speech and hate crimes against people with mental disabilities
-
Understand the needs assessment methodology (WP2), including national surveys, interviews with legal experts, and focus groups with target groups
-
Explore concrete examples of how international project results are disseminated to the community, through events like the one run by Amanita
The guests showed a strong interest in the project’s thematic focus and delivery format, especially in the collaborative approach between multiple Estonian partners, which ensured a broader reach and visibility. They also expressed appreciation for the clear messaging, inclusion of real voices from the target group, and the ability to connect international project work with local needs.
The visit proved to be a highly effective dissemination opportunity for the COMBATHATE project and opened the door for future cooperation with community actors from Kadrina Municipality.
