Dissemination Activity Report
Date: 24 October 2025
Location: Klaipėda, Lithuania
Target Group: Adult education organisers, leaders, and educators from Latvia, Lithuania, and Finland

On 24 October 2025, a dedicated dissemination session for the COMBATHATE project took place in Klaipėda, Lithuania, as part of a broader international meeting involving adult education professionals from the Baltic and Nordic regions. The session was integrated into a transnational gathering of adult education stakeholders, including directors of adult learning centres, programme coordinators, and experienced trainers from Latvia, Lithuania, and Finland.

The goal of this session was to introduce the COMBATHATE project in the context of inclusive education, adult learner empowerment, and community resilience. The audience consisted of approximately 20 participants, all of whom play active roles in the strategic development and delivery of adult education in their respective regions.

During the presentation, the following aspects of the COMBATHATE project were highlighted:

  • The background and rationale behind the project, including the need to combat hate speech and hate crimes targeting individuals with mental disabilities

  • The main objectives and structure of the project, particularly focusing on community engagement, human rights education, and intersectoral cooperation

  • The methodology of the WP2 Needs Assessment, including survey-based research, interviews with legal professionals, and focus groups with persons with mental disabilities and their support networks

  • Examples of local implementation from Estonia, including public events, institutional cooperation, and awareness-raising activities

  • Preliminary insights from the Estonian pilot activities and how they might inform similar initiatives in other European contexts

The presentation generated active discussion, particularly around the role of adult education in addressing social exclusion and discrimination. Many participants expressed concern over similar issues in their own countries and showed interest in adopting or adapting COMBATHATE-related practices in their local work with vulnerable learners.

Several participants also requested follow-up materials, links to the forthcoming e-learning content, and the opportunity to remain informed as the project progresses toward its next stages. The session helped position COMBATHATE as a valuable example of how EU-funded initiatives can directly support social inclusion and adult education goals across Europe.

This dissemination opportunity strengthened international networking, increased visibility of the project among key stakeholders in the adult learning sector, and paved the way for potential future collaborations.
