COMBATHATE Project Introduced to International Erasmus+ Participants in Pärnu

On 3 June 2026, Nooruse Maja welcomed an international group of nearly 20 participants taking part in a week-long Erasmus+ staff mobility and experience-sharing programme hosted by HUUB in Pärnu.

The participants represented six different countries and came from a variety of educational, community development, and civil society organisations. The visit focused on exchanging good practices, learning from different approaches to adult education and community engagement, and strengthening international cooperation.

As part of the programme, representatives of Nooruse Maja introduced the COMBATHATE project and presented its objectives, activities, and results achieved so far. Participants learned about the project's mission to combat hate speech and hate crimes against individuals with mental disabilities and to promote more inclusive and supportive communities across Europe.

The presentation provided an overview of the project's research activities, educational resources, psychological first aid training materials, legal support tools, and awareness-raising initiatives currently being developed by the international partnership. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of cooperation between educators, social service providers, disability organisations, and community leaders in preventing discrimination and supporting victims.

The international audience showed considerable interest in the project and engaged in discussions about challenges related to inclusion, accessibility, and the growing impact of hate speech in both online and offline environments. Participants shared experiences from their own countries, creating valuable opportunities for mutual learning and reflection.

The visit contributed to the international dissemination of COMBATHATE project results and helped raise awareness of the project's goals among professionals working in adult education, social inclusion, and community development across Europe.
