COMBATHATE Project Dissemination – Community Resilience Training Visit in Pärnu

Date: 8 October 2026
Location: Nooruse Maja, Pärnu, Estonia
Target group: Community activists and representatives of Kehtna Municipality
Activity type: Face-to-face project dissemination during a study visit

On 8 October 2026, Nooruse Maja hosted a group of community activists and representatives from Kehtna Municipality as part of a training day organised in cooperation with the Estonian Rescue Board (Päästeamet).

The training focused on emergency preparedness, sheltering procedures, and community resilience. During their visit to Nooruse Maja, participants were introduced to the centre's role as a local community resilience centre.

The visit also provided an opportunity to present the COMBATHATE project, its objectives, activities, and results achieved so far. Particular attention was given to raising awareness of hate speech, discrimination, and hate crimes targeting people with mental disabilities, as well as the importance of accessible support services and inclusive community responses.

The presentation highlighted the relevance of COMBATHATE tools and outcomes for local communities, especially in strengthening awareness, inclusion, and the capacity to support vulnerable individuals.

This dissemination activity helped introduce the project to community-level stakeholders and demonstrated how the principles of inclusion, equal rights, and protection of vulnerable groups can be integrated into broader community resilience initiatives.

Dissemination outcome: Increased awareness of the COMBATHATE project and its results among community activists and local municipality representatives, with potential for further knowledge sharing within their communities.
